Uttar Pradesh American Football Association introduces a unified digital platform for registration, certification, verification, district development, and the growth of American football and flag football across the state.
Uttar Pradesh, October 2026 — The Uttar Pradesh American Football Association (UPAFA) is pleased to announce the launch of its official website, upafa.in, which has been live since October 2nd, 2026 evening .
The launch marks an important step in UPAFA's efforts to establish a unified digital platform for American football and flag football in Uttar Pradesh. The new website brings key association services, information, registration systems, certification programs, district structures, news, events, and resources together in one place.
A Central Digital Platform
UPAFA serves as the state governing body for American football and flag football in Uttar Pradesh. The association's work includes player and official registration, certification, certificate verification, and coordination of the state's district and zonal structure.
The new website provides a central point of access for players, coaches, referees, clubs, district associations, officials, volunteers, and supporters of the sport.
Visitors can register as players, referees, or coaches, submit district affiliation applications, and verify certificates issued through the association.
Connecting the Football Community
A key part of UPAFA's structure is its development pathway from the local level to the national federation.
The association's structure connects clubs, district associations, zones, and the state association, creating a framework through which athletes and football communities can participate and develop.
Club → District → Zone → UPAFA → AFFI
UPAFA is affiliated with the American Football Federation of India (AFFI), providing a connection between football development in Uttar Pradesh and the national level.
Supporting Players, Coaches and Officials
The UPAFA website also provides information about certification pathways for coaches and referees.
Referee certification covers Level 1 through Level 3, focusing on rules and officiating mechanics. Coach certification also follows Level 1 through Level 3, supporting the development of coaching knowledge and skills.
By bringing registration and certification information online, UPAFA aims to make these pathways easier to understand and access for members of the football community.
American Football and Flag Football
UPAFA's platform covers both American football and flag football.
American football is the tackle-based format of the sport, while flag football is a non-contact format in which a flag pull ends the play.
Flag football is also entering an important period of international growth, with the sport included in the programme for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
For Uttar Pradesh, this provides an opportunity to expand participation, develop athletes and officials, and create structured pathways from local clubs and districts toward higher levels of competition.
Looking Toward LA28
The development of athletes, coaches, referees, and local football communities becomes increasingly important as flag football moves toward its Olympic debut at Los Angeles 2028.
UPAFA's development efforts are focused on strengthening the foundations of the sport across Uttar Pradesh and creating opportunities for people to participate at different levels.
The association aims to support grassroots participation, district development, athlete development, coaching, officiating, and state-level representation.
A New Digital Home for UPAFA
The launch of upafa.in represents a new digital chapter for the Uttar Pradesh American Football Association.
The website will provide a central platform for the football community to stay informed, register, participate, access resources, follow events, and learn more about the development of American football and flag football across Uttar Pradesh.
As UPAFA continues to expand its activities and district network, the website will also continue to evolve with new programs, events, announcements, resources, and development initiatives.
Players, coaches, referees, clubs, districts, volunteers, and supporters are invited to explore the new platform and follow UPAFA's journey.
